May 20th. Wednesday

9 pm

The guys were passed out.  Buddy fell asleep at the front door, tired from guarding from intruders.  Bubba moved into the bedroom to go to sleep.

There’s an abandoned package on the coffee table.

7 pm

Both guys moved over to sit by the front door.  It was walk time.  I grabbed the leashes, and Bubba moved to get into bed, for the third time this evening.  Buddy and I went for a short walk, half way up the hill just past the entrance to the switchbacks down to the beach, then he wanted to come home.

He did not poop.  We walked about 20 minutes.

5:30 pm

Bubba and Buddy both moved to sit by the door.  It was walk time.  I grabbed the leashes, and Bubba moved over to the piano bed.  He wasn’t walking.  The guys did this to me an hour before dinner, and both ran for the beds when I got the leashes.

Buddy and I made it almost to Selva when he decided to start pulling.  The walk was over.  He managed to pull his harness over his face, and looked silly.  The way wasn’t even 5 minutes and we were done.

2:05 pm

We were barely home a few minutes and Bubba jumped off the couch to dash to the bathroom.  He had to poop again already, and this time it was just liquid.

2 pm

We got back from a walk.  We rushed out the door, so I didn’t notice what time we left.

I was working at the dining room table.  Buddy was working on trying to lick all the fur off his paw for half an hour.  Bubba was staying cool under the ceiling fan in the bedroom.  I heard Bubba go out the dog door from the bedroom and saw him searching for a spot to squat.  I quickly went out to join him and ask if he wanted to walk.  He ran back into the house, into the bedroom then out to the living room area.

We got leashed up, and out the door.  I rushed Buddy along, so Bubba could get to his spot quickly.  He needed to go, and I didn’t want Buddy slow-walking our way there.  Bubba pooped right when we got to the grass area that he likes.  Then we walked along to the first stairs and cut across the parking lot towards home.  Bubba pooped a second time once we got across the street.  It was like Buddy’s runny-snot poop.

Buddy decided he needed to poop once we got to the mailboxes.

I’m not sure how long we were gone, since I only noticed the return time, but it was fairly quick.  It was very warm, and both guys looked a bit uncomfortable despite the short trip.

9:30 am

My timing seemed about perfect for Buddy.  He jumped out of the recliner when I opened the door, stopped to stretch once, then ran over to say hi.  He was sleeping, but he had had plenty of sleep.  Bubba was relaxing in the bedroom, but awake.  Both guys were ready to walk as soon as I had put out the day food to soak.  I didn’t have my first coffee yet, and I stared at Bubba who looked odd – but at first I wasn’t sure why.  It was his harness, which was put on by someone who was apparently not fully awake yet before 6am.  The harness was on sideways.  We took a second to get the harness rotated on correctly, then headed out.

We walked out to the sidewalk just past the mailboxes when Buddy locked down and refused to go anymore.  So we took him home and dropped him off, so Bubba could get his walk in without dealing with Buddy’s resistance.

Bubba took us over to the dog park and then through the little complex of condos back out to the parking lot.  We ran into Barbara who was taking Leonard out for a walk.  I had forgotten that I’m supposed to keep a tight rein on the Alpha and he jumped at Leonard and scared the poor guy with the ferocious Alpha barking.

From there we turned around and headed back to the dog park, where we saw Dave and Elroy.  Dave was busy on the phone, and Elroy decided to follow Bubba around while Bubba surveyed the area for scents that needed his attention.

Bubba pooped.  We walked about 30 minutes.
