2:40 pm
I ran home to get coffee to study. When I got back, Buddy was at the door and Bubba had jumped down off the couch. I said, “we will walk in half an hour, okay?”
Nope. As soon as I sat down, the yips started. The Alpha was ready. That damned coffee; every single time.
We went out on the path towards the memorial. We were just outside Becky and Johnny’s place, when Buddy suddenly turned around and darted back towards home. He was scared by something. Whatever it was, it wasn’t bothering Bubba at all. Buddy was in the same defensive posture that I’d gotten used to with Bubba – ears flattened, tail tucked, shoulders drawn down, moving in a deep crawl. He moved like this, staying to the right side of the sidewalk, eyes darting around fearfully, until we reached the sidewalk on Selva.
And then he was fine.
We went up the path to PCH, in at the gate, over to the dog park – no friends were there – and then home.
We walked 40 minutes. Buddy pooped, Bubba did not
2:30 pm
The guys were awake, but just relaxing. They didn’t want to walk. Bubba wanted up on the couch, so I helped him up. Buddy wanted to play tug-of-war briefly, before going to chew on bunny without the game, then deciding to go eat, and in a span of under 2 minutes.
I got out my school stuff to study out on the deck.
Noon
Buddy had eaten everything on the Day Treats plate except for the probiotics pill. He needed it, so I ground the pill to dust and mixed it into some filet mignon and fed it to him by hand.
Bubba went out the deck, so we joined him. The guys went back in at 12:15 and I took a shot at getting us out for a walk, but they declined.
9:15 am
Buddy wasn’t expecting me. He ran to the toybox to grab his lion when the door opened, instead of coming to see who it was. He turned around to show the toy – and then looked surprised at who was there.
He ran into the bedroom, carrying the lion in his mouth, then came right back out. I asked, “walk?” and he and his lion ran to the front door.
We went out, and headed on the path toward’s Derith’s home, but headed left by the dumpster. We went out to the island where he did his business, then walked over to the first mailboxes by the pool, and then we suddenly decided we didn’t want to walk anymore and went home.
B
qubba was still sleeping when we got back.
