Saturday, Sept 12.

4:30 pm

Dinner was a disappointing 2-course affair.  There was no roast beef. There was enough roast beef for 3 dinners, but I could smell that it had gone off the second I opened the bag.  If I wouldn’t eat it, I’m definitely not serving it to the guys.

Both started eating right away.  One bowl was almost emptied inside of 10 minutes, so they aren’t too insulted by the limited options.

3:12 pm

Bubba must have sensed me typing about him.  He came out, stopped on the rug by the front door and stared at me.  Buddy got off the back of the couch and moved onto the seat near me, reading in the recliner.

I got up to find out if Bubba wanted to walk. I opened the front door.  He didn’t moved, except to turn his head to watch me.  I went to the basket to get the leashes and held them out, asking if he wants to walk.  He continued to stare.  I moved near him and held out the clasp end of the leash, not getting very close.  Bubba moved into the front door bed.  I think all the movimg around to prep for a walk was just entertainment for him.

3:10 pm

I went next door for a late lunch.  I was gone about 15 minutes, and everyone had relocated while I was gone.  Bubba moved into the bedroom and Buddy took over the Alpha Spot on the back of the couch.

Buddy didn’t bother getting up to guard the home when I opened the

door, and looked like he’d been awakened from a pretty heavy nap.

1:25 pm

Bubba woke up and jumped off the couch, almost landing on Buddy, who was napping next to the coffee table.  Bubba went to the bathroom to pee, then came out to stand by the door.  I got up to take him out, and he dashed away when I pick up the leashes, and got comfy in the front door bed.  I sat down to read, and Bubba got up to go out and sauté some poop on the hot deck.

After he finished, he returned to the front door bed, curled up and quickly went back to sleep while I went out to clean up.

12:50 pm

Buddy finally gave up waiting for Bubba to want to walk, and we went out.   As expected, it was a short bathroom run, but a very different route.

We walked across the immediate parking area, as if headed to Hillery’s.  He relieved himself by the time we reached the dumpster.  We continued up towards Hillery’s in the parking lot, but he stopped suddenly and wanted to turn around.

We got back to the opposite parking area, and he stopped by the boiler enclosure to “think” for quite a while before deciding to go home.

11 am

We’ve moved around a little, from beds to under pianos and on couches, but we have not walked.  It’s not at all hot today, but we are still inside.‍

8:30 am

We all seem to be on the same page this morning.  I would have stayed in bed if I didn’t have dudes needing me.

It was Bubba at the front door this morning.  I’m not sure how that even worked.  I could hear Buddy jumping off the couch when I opened the door.  I wasn’t expecting that, because I thought I heard him at the door sniffing to detect what was on the other side.   When I opened the door, I saw a nose – but it was the Alpha.  I’m not sure how he knew I was coming, since he couldn’t have heard me coming.

Both guys were up and ready to walk.  I did the normal morning accidents check then put out the breakfast to marinade.  When I came out of the kitchen, both guys were sitting by the front door, bodies facing the outside, heads turned to look at me.  It was walk time.

I pulled the leashes from the basket and both guys ran for the hills.  It wasn’t walk time at all. Buddy buried himself under a blanket for extra anti-walk protection, and after a few seconds, peeked out to see if the coast was clear, and it was.  Bubba hopped into the bed by the front door to get in a pre-walk nap
